BetEasy.com.au Review

BetEasy Origins

The online bookmaker BetEasy is the product of multiple mergers and acquisitions. The agency started in 2005 as Betezy and remained so until late 2014, when it became BetEasy for the first time. Early in 2015, BetEasy combined with exchange wagering agency Betfair. A deal involving Crown Resorts and BetEasy owner Matthew Tripp found the name of the agency changed to CrownBet.

Canadian online wagering agency The Stars Group entered the picture at the outset of 2018, becoming the majority shareholder of CrownBet. Soon after, CrownBet acquired William Hill Australia and the new entity resurrected the BetEasy name.

Wagering with BetEasy

BetEasy’s primary focus is on the Australian market. The Australian dollar is the only currency accepted and English is the only language supported. Enough funding and withdrawal options exist to satisfy the needs of most punters.

They do support live betting to the extent Australian regulations permit, which means a phone call until the government agencies take the leap into the 21st century.

As is the case with most online wagering companies, minimum deposit and wagering requirements are small. An account can be established with $5 and online wagers of a penny are accepted. Phone betting minimums are $50 for racing bets and $20 for sports bets.

BetEasy Website

The BetEasy website features the three-column arrangement that is practically an industry standard. Sports and Racing are on the left, markets and odds are in the middle, and the betting slip is on the right.

Experienced online punters could migrate from many other agencies and need only moments to submit a betting slip. New bettors can get up to speed quickly too, after 5 or 10 minutes of orientation. The only real difference between the BetEasy wagering interface and that on the now defunct CrownBet is the different colour scheme.

BetEasy Mobile

There are apps for Android and Apple iOS. We had the CrownBet app on our Android phone and tapped in hopes of automatically being redirected to BetEasy, but that was not the case. We installed the app without issue and were immediately offered Sky Racing to watch live racing of all three racing codes.

We jumped to Sports and in a few seconds, we were able to locate markets and view odds, so the app is completely functional and intuitive.

Conclusion

BetEasy is a welcome addition to the online wagering scene. They have competitive odds, plenty of markets and enough ongoing promotions to keep things interesting. They could be a sole agency for many punters and BetEasy could be another arrow in the quiver for those who enjoy shopping for the best markets, odds and promotions.
